Detail of an irregular terracotta surface

The curve matters.
So does the space
around it.

A narrow opening. A generous shoulder. An uneven surface that catches light differently from every side. Form 01 is an exploration of volume and restraint.

Material,
made visible.

01 / GRAIN

A surface to look at.

Small interruptions keep the surface from becoming uniform. Light draws attention to the ridges and hollows.

02 / FORM

Volume before detail.

The outline is legible at a distance. Up close, the rim and shoulder begin to tell their own story.

03 / LIGHT

Let shadow do some work.

A strong object does not need a crowded setting. Leave enough space for its shadow to fall.

06

Care for lasting presence.

Thoughtful placement is part of living with objects. For any physical piece, follow its maker’s care guidance.

Make room

Choose a stable surface with space around the object. Keep the edges of shelves clear.

Handle with attention

Support a vessel from its base. A narrow neck or delicate rim is not a handle.

Consider the surface

Use a protective layer where an unglazed base meets a delicate tabletop.

07

Less, but with feeling.

01

A form should offer something from every angle.

02

Material can be expressive without being loud.

03

The empty space belongs to the composition.
