A tabletop
journey
The rules ↓

The long
way home.

A little map. A handful of places.
A journey you can make your own.

Leave the gate.
Visit the grove.
Find your way home.

ROAM is a small tabletop route game. Use a coin as your traveler, pick a path, and tell a story at each stop.

Every place
offers a pause.

The gate

Name something your traveler is carrying.

The grove

Choose something they notice along the way.

The little house

Say what they bring back from the journey.

Choose the
shape of your day.

The quiet loop

Gate → grove → home. Three stops, with one story at each.

The wandering loop

Gate → water → grove → bridge → home. Make room for two more stories.

No rush.
Just a route.

  1. Place your traveler at the gate.
  2. Move to the next marked place.
  3. Tell a sentence about what happens there.
  4. Keep going until you reach home.

Better with
another traveler.

Take turns moving the same piece. One person begins a sentence; the other adds what happens next.

There is no score to keep. If you want a shorter journey, stop at the grove and imagine the way home together.

Keep the map.
Change the story.

What do I need?

Print a map and find a coin, button or small paper shape to use as a traveler. No account or special pieces are needed.

Can I make new places?

Yes. The SVG map is editable. Add a place, connect it to the route and give it a question for the next traveler.

A whole journey.
One sheet of paper.

Take both route maps and the short rule sheet.
